Ping Blueprint S Irons
Designed after extensive testing with our top tour pros to ensure control and precision, the Blueprint S iron adds forgiveness to the mix to improve performance. The fully forged 8620 carbon steel head features a clean cavity design and optimized CG for distance and trajectory control. Precision-Pocket Forging, a patented process that creates a pocket in the cavity, saves weight and increases forgiveness in the 3, 4 and 5 irons.
Forged for performance
Extensive testing with our top tour pros provided tremendous insight into the development of the Blueprint S. No detail was overlooked, offering unique differentiators in the forged iron category while delivering the shot accuracy and score-lowering performance demanded by the world's best players.
Precision Pocket Forging
Using a patented technique, a pocket is forged into the cavity of the 3, 4 and 5 irons, saving 10g of weight which is redistributed to increase MOI for added forgiveness. An elastomer insert provides a solid feel and sound.
Optics preferred by professionals
The compact shape suits the discerning eye, with a thin top line, minimal offset and shorter club length, creating confidence at address. This design was developed in collaboration with top PING Tour pros who wanted a blade-style iron that offered playability and control.
Machine Milled Face & Grooves
Precision milled grooves provide the preferred launch and spin results for those who rely on pinpoint control. In tests with tour players, the Blueprint S produced more ball speed than previous generations while increasing maximum height for better performance when stopping on the green.
Narrower sole
Tungsten tip weights allow fine tuning of swing weight. The narrow sole provides consistent interaction with the turf in all conditions. Standard lofts are identical to Blueprint T and i230 for mixed sets.
Early validation
The 6 to PW irons are sized and shaped to play well and provide control. These features are appreciated by PING pros, who have been quick to embrace the new design. Sahith Theegala was the first to win with the S because they offer a straighter ball flight and consistent distance. Louis Oosthuizen has won several consecutive victories with a mixture of S and T.
